What is the NOVATYS probe?

The NOVATYS vaginal probe is a medical device equipped with two circular electrodes designed to stimulate or record the perineal musculature.

Thanks to its lightweight, pad-shaped design, it offers simplified positioning and minimizes the risk of expulsion during perineal re-education sessions.

Its gold electrodes limit the risk of allergens and improve current quality.

Perineal rehabilitation is a set of techniques and exercises designed to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles. 

The perineum is a group of muscles and tissues located between the pubis and the coccyx, supporting the pelvic organs such as the bladder, uterus (in women) and rectum.

How does it work?

The NOVATYS probe has 2 plugs in 2 different colors (red and black).

The proximal part (the part inserted first, i.e. inside the body) fits easily into the posterior vaginal area, while the probe body, with its reduced diameter, offers greater stability inside the vaginal cavity, enhanced by its light weight.

Thanks to its lightweight, tampon-like design, it offers simplified positioning and minimizes the risk of expulsion.

The probes work with an electrostimulation device. These devices are used to help strengthen pelvic floor muscles using low-intensity electrical currents.

How to use the probe?

The NOVATYS is inserted into the vagina, and the cables connected to the stimulator.

Once the problem has been determined by manual testing, the therapist will start a re-education session using the preset or personalized programs of the electrostimulation device.

Program times vary from 15 to 30 minutes.
